At the Threshold of Becoming
A guided 34-page process for following one recent moment from reaction to recurring pattern, the belief beneath it, and a more truthful action.
Begin with the moment that still feels unfinished.
Sometimes the first sign is anxiety that does not make sense from the outside. Sometimes it is exhaustion, grief, resentment, numbness, or a familiar moment you keep replaying because something in it feels unfinished.
The workbook begins there—not with a complete explanation of your life, but with one moment that can be followed carefully enough to reveal what it has been carrying.
Follow one moment far enough to see the pattern.
You will begin with one recent moment: a situation where you overrode what you knew or offered a version of yourself that did not feel entirely true.
By slowing the moment down, you will see the sequence more clearly: what happened, what your body registered, what meaning arrived, and what you did next. Then you will trace the same movement across other situations, understand what it was trying to preserve, and identify the belief that made it feel necessary.
From there, you will write a Living Belief, choose one modest action, and begin gathering evidence from ordinary life.
One leaf. One Living Belief. One truthful step carried forward.
- one recent moment understood more clearly;
- one recurring pattern named in language you can recognize while it is happening;
- one Survival Belief understood in the context in which it formed;
- one Living Belief accurate and believable enough to practise;
- one specific action that expresses the Living Belief in ordinary life;
- one way to notice evidence that you are returning to yourself;
- the next truthful step brought into view.

You do not need a complete explanation of your life to begin.
- something in your life has become difficult to continue, even if you cannot yet explain what needs to change;
- you keep overriding what you know in order to preserve approval, belonging, calm, or another person’s comfort;
- you can function well for other people but have difficulty identifying what you want, need, believe, or choose for yourself;
- your identity has become organized around a role, relationship, achievement, caregiving function, or adaptation that no longer fits;
- you understand a pattern intellectually but need a structure for turning insight into a different action;
- you are rebuilding after grief, sobriety, estrangement, burnout, relational rupture, family-system distortion, or another threshold that has changed how you understand your life.
You need one moment that matters and enough steadiness to examine it.
Move at a pace that allows you to remain present.
You may complete it in one sitting, work through one section at a time, or return over several days or weeks. Print either the full-colour or printer-friendly edition and write directly on the pages, type into the fillable edition, use a separate journal, or read first and return when you are ready.
The inquiry may reveal a carried-forward pattern, a present-day conflict, a reasonable compromise, or an interpretation that changes as you examine it. You do not need to force your experience to fit the framework. Your authority over the pace, depth, timing, and meaning of the work is part of the work itself.
Psychologically informed. Educational and reflective.
The sequence draws on ideas found in cognitive and behavioural approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed principles, self-compassion, and embodied or interoceptive awareness. These influences shape the workbook’s attention to patterns, meaning, values, choice, pacing, and evidence.
At the Threshold of Becoming is an educational and reflective resource for personal growth. It is not therapy, medical care, mental health care, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or a substitute for individualized advice from a qualified professional. Using the workbook does not create a therapeutic, coaching, or other professional relationship.
Move at a pace that allows you to remain present. Pause if the material becomes overwhelming, and seek additional support when it exceeds what feels manageable on your own.
Before you begin.
Is this a physical workbook?
No. This is a digital product. Your purchase includes three PDF editions of the same workbook: a full-colour printable edition, a printer-friendly low-ink edition, and a fillable digital edition. Nothing will be shipped.
When will I receive it?
After successful payment, download links will be sent to the email address used at checkout. Delivery is normally immediate, although email providers can occasionally delay or filter automated messages.
What is the difference between the three editions?
The full-colour edition preserves the complete visual design. The printer-friendly edition uses a simplified, low-ink treatment for home printing. The fillable edition contains typeable fields for use on a computer or compatible tablet PDF reader.
Can I use the fillable version on my phone?
You can view the file on a phone, but the workbook is easier to use on a computer or tablet with a standard PDF reader. Save your completed file under a new name so your entries are preserved.
How long does the workbook take?
There is no required schedule. You may move through it in one sitting, one section at a time, or over several days or weeks.
Do I need to begin with my most difficult experience?
No. Choose a recent moment that matters and is steady enough to examine. A modest example can reveal a pattern without asking you to begin with the most overwhelming experience available.
Is this therapy?
No. The workbook is an educational and reflective resource for personal growth. It is not therapy, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or individualized professional advice.
May I buy a copy for someone else?
Yes. Each quantity purchased includes one personal-use licence. If you purchase an additional licence as a gift, you may give one unmodified set of files to one recipient for each additional licence purchased. A single licence may not be shared among multiple people. Professional, client, group, classroom, program, or organizational use is not included.
May I use it with clients, students, groups, or programs?
Not under the personal-use licence. Professional, classroom, group, program, and organizational use requires prior written permission. Visit Professional Use to submit an enquiry.
Can I get a refund?
Because the files are delivered digitally, purchases are generally final once download access has been provided. Contact us within 14 days if you were charged twice, did not receive access, or received a corrupted or materially defective file. See the Digital Product & Refund Policy for full details.
